Abstract

This paper presents the implementation of a robot that can monitor the child in absence of their parents. This is focused on the children belongs to the age group of 6 months to 3 years. The robot consists of two parts. The first part (A) is the main robot consists of Raspberry Pi model 3 B+, Pi camera, Sound sensor, Motor driver, Battery, and transceiver. The second part (B) of the robot is a kit consists of Arduino Uno, a digital temperature sensor (DB18B20), battery, and transceiver. This robot is capable enough to provide live video streaming to parents. It can also detect if the child is crying, and if the crying sound is detected then it will send a notification to parents via email. Part B of the robot can be kept in the child’s favorite toy or any other place such that the temperature sensor is in continuous touch with the robot. If the temperature exceeds the threshold value, the robot will notify parents via email. Parents can move the robot accordingly by giving commands and the robot can also differentiate the presence of any other animal in the same room using machine learning. So that the parents can monitor the child from any place the child’s security is maintained.
