Abstract

Over the past centuries, Egypt pursued a policy of localizing industries in urban areas only, and its lack of a policy of industrial integration with rural communities. These policies have encouraged migration from the countryside to the urban areas, as rural communities continue to suffer from neglect that has had an effect on increasing the migration of the rural population.

This research aims to achieve integrated development between rural and urban areas and to domiciliate industries in rural areas in an integrated manner with Urban areas, which reduces regional disparities between rural and urban.

This study has been dealt with in three main axes:

1- The first axis represented in identifying the role of industrial integration in rural development, in which the study of rural development and its integration with urban areas and the role of integration between industry and agriculture in achieving the balance between rural and urban regions and studying industrial integration and its types, which is represented In each of the horizontal integration, vertical integration and its types, Also been studying the axes of industrial integration, the most important policies and mechanisms for achieving it, and the constituents and obstacles to its success. As well as studying the spatial distribution and integration of industries.

2-As for the second axis, it was represented in standing on the role of small and medium industries as integrative industries in achieving rural development, and in it, each of the role of small and medium industries in achieving development was studied, as well as the study of industrial integration and the extent of the contribution of small and medium industries in supporting large industries.

3-In the third axis, a strategy for domiciliation of integrated industrial projects in rural communities was developed, and features were defined for the integration of industrial projects in villages, and the proposed spatial distribution of industries based on agricultural and fishery resources.

By the end, some results were reached, which were represented in the existence of a link between the city and the countryside with a network of complex relationships, especially with regard to the existing economic relations between them, and there is an inverse relationship between the degree of vertical integration and the size of the industry, when the industry is in its initial stages, the volume of industrial operations It is too small to encourage the establishment of subordinate facilities. The Egyptian village also faces many intertwined economic and social problems, the main causes of which are the weak economic resources of the village and the inequitable distribution of development between rural and urban areas.
