Abstract

The Iraqi economy suffered from a clear fluctuation in economic growth rates after 2003 as a result of reliance on one sector, which is the oil sector, and the weak contribution of the rest of the productive sectors, and then a weakness in the flexibility of the production system to meet the growing demand, especially the domestic demand resulting from the growth of consumer spending at the expense of investment spending, which He worked to increase imports, and then the income leaked abroad, and thus the weakness of the work of the multiplier and then the accelerator, and the decrease in their role in increasing the rates of economic growth. The existence of a well-defined economic system. The Iraqi economy is not a capitalist system based on market mechanisms, nor a socialist system based on the central planning method, nor a mixed system. Consequently, this confusion contributed to the weakness of the productive sectors and its dependence on foreign production to cover local demand, and then income leaked abroad through the import channel. As a result of that process double the work of the multiplier and then the accelerator. And the most important recommendations of the research is the need to follow a remedial strategy as it gives us clear evidence and effective results for the economic recession that the Iraqi economy suffers in order to transform most of the weaknesses in the Iraqi economy from the weaknesses in the basic economic structure to strengths in order to advance the economy from the stagnation in which it is experiencing.
