Abstract

In this research article, the simulation, design & development of a 5G wireless communication system model of the FBMC set-ups of different types of Antenna’s Tx’s & Rx’s for wireless sensor network is presented along with the mathematical model development and the simulation results. An antenna is a transducer that converts radio frequency (RF) fields into alternating current or vice versa.  Antennas are metallic structures designed for radiating and receiving electromagnetic energy. An antenna acts as a transitional structure between the guiding device (e.g. waveguide, transmission line) and the free space. Antennas play an important role in the operation of all radio equipment. They are used in wireless local area networks, mobile telephony and satellite communication. Antenna Types in wireless communication are the Horn Antenna, Parabolic Reflector Antenna, Helical Antenna, Microstrip Patch Antenna, Dipole Antenna, Folded Dipole Antenna, Ground Plane Antenna, Log Periodic Antenna, etc… The antenna system can consist of a single antenna at the base station and one at the mobile station. Primarily the antenna is employed by the base station and the mobile for establishing and maintaining the communication link. A brief review of the antennas that are used in the 5G communication spectrum is also presented.  The simulation was also carried out for NR = 2000 number of Monte Carlo repetitions and the results are tabulated in the quantitative results table, from which we can come to a conclusions that higher the number of iterative steps, lesser is the reduction in the BER & in the SNR, but the number of computations increases, complexity increases even though the accuracy is very good. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the methodology that is being developed. This article serves as a ready reckoner to all the researchers who wants to pursue research in the field of antenna usage in the 5G based wireless communications.
