Abstract

The Pacific coastal city of Orange County in California has been the trendsetter in reuse of sewage by advanced degree of treatment followed by injection wells and spreading basins into local aquifers and has virtually become self-sufficient in its public water supply with just about 600 mm annual rainfall. Its adaptation to the coastal Chennai metropolis on the Bay of Bengal is explored in this paper
