Abstract

Cloud computing provides cost-efficient opportunities for enterprises by offering various dynamic, scalable, and shared services through the data center.  In any data center or Infrastructure-as-a-Service of cloud, components failures are quite common. High-availability assurance of cloud service is a critical and challenging issue for cloud service providers. The availability analysis of the cloud infrastructure is helpful to the service provider to design an apparent service level agreement. An unplanned downtime may have occurred if any pooled resource failure or not working. The scaling feature of the cloud system is helpful to handle downtime situations. In the present article, we work on a component-based availability modeling and estimate an average downtime for a cloud environment.
