Abstract

Corpus based research is a new research method in modern linguistics. Semantic cultural analysis is a linguistic mechanism discovered and further studied by linguists of the corpus of linguistics. This paper attempts to make a corpus based study of semantic culture and explore its application in English teaching. In this study, we will first use corpus software to construct class connections for these words. Then, we conduct a corpus search to analyze their index lines and reveal their semantic prosody features. This study will try to innovate in English teaching methods, that is, to provide a semantic prosody research method for teachers and learners, including synonym discrimination. At the same time, the introduction of corpus and index line into classroom teaching will promote students’ data-driven learning. The experimental results show that this method can effectively stimulate students’ learning motivation, and then improve students’ ability to analyze and solve problems.
