Decision Support System for Admission of New Islamic Boarding School Students using the Simple Additive Weighting Method

Abstract

Enrollment of new islamic students is a routine activity conducted by pesantren institutions in receiving new islamic students. Usually the recruitment of new islamic students with a traditional model of islamic students who will enrollment themselves must go directly to pesantren, with the development of technology and information systems now, efforts to improve the quality of potential islamic students receiving new islamic students must be in accordance with the interests, hobbies, and talents of islamic students. Admission registration of islamic students booked becomes more effective if using the integration of technology trends and information systems. The author introduces a simple and more effective model of decision support system (DSS) method of Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) if implemented properly in Pesantren Indonesia. Therefore, in improving the quality of pesantren education, islamic students who enroll in Pesantren must be selected first, together with the potential interest of many of the islamic students in studying in Pesantren. This research focuses on the use of simple additive weighting (SAW) methods that can produce decision recommendations in the acceptance of new islamic students such as the placement of islamic students in ribat (educational focus institutions in the shade of pesantren) that best suits their interests and talents. The number of students used as a research sample is 5 to be ranked. The attributes of the criteria have been determined by pesantren such as the test of reciting the Quran, reading books, potential interests and talents, as well as speaking santri. The final result obtained from the use of Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method is the determination of pass and not pass in the registration selection stage. Islamic students who graduate will be included in the ribat in accordance with their interests and talents by paying attention to quotas and other alternative ribat.
