Recently, it had proved a significant markup for development of smart cities globally. However, due to the lack of finding a smart model for a university, the smart services that are delivered by universities to users are not enough to be sufficient and sophisticated. Therefore, this paper presents a complete model that will be sufficient for the evolution of a smart university campus. The basic model, which is required at the university to achieve “smart” working characteristics, can contribute to the digitization. In another words, the paper represents an architecture, which will help to upgrade the working model of a university, to achieve digitization and transformation from traditional working to a model-working environment. This study involves in conducting a literature review in order to identify the components of the smart university model. This study will be a benefit for Saudi Arabian's universities to move from traditional work to be smart university to provide sufficient services.
