Single and Dual Band Micro-Strip Patch Antenna Design for C and Ku Bands Applications

Abstract

The aim of this research paper is to design a dual bands equilateral triangular micro-strip patch antenna. The suggested antenna dimension is (18×18×1.6)   and  (28 22 1.6)   for a single band and dual band respectively installed on dielectric substrate FR-4, which has loss tangent (tan =0.002) and ( =4.3). Both patch and ground are copper material with thickness (t=00.035 mm). Two band are achieved (7.67-8) GHz and (15.71-20) GHz. The return loss(S11=-25.068dB) at frequency ( =7.8312GHz), (S11=-23.31dB) at frequency ( =16.507GHz) respectively. This antenna is suitable for wireless applications such as LPTV Digital radio (LD), satellite, Microwave relay and radar systems, weather monitoring, etc. The proposed antenna is simulated using CST-MW software and manufactured practically.
