Indications of Comic Arts in Ancient Egypt Through Virtual Museums

Abstract

Despite of the great importance of the comic arts in ancient Egypt especially that it reflects exceptional situations; however it is not known enough by most of the people, and that is because of the extreme rarity of the studies and researches that deal with it, This prompted the necessity of searching for a way to keep pace with the rapid technological development that eased the preserving, studying and the displaying of this kind of art through virtual museums.

Virtual museums occurred as a replacement or a completion for the traditional museums so that tours in virtual museums becomes more accessible and bypassing the obstacles of the space and time and the restrictions that might not be suitable for some of the people who want to visit, and not far from some biological disasters that might restrict us from accessing these places, and that some countries experience a state of social and security disturbance, and keeping in mind that the virtual museums that are accessible currently deals with documenting and archaeological publishing of works, ignoring its historical artistic reading. The current studies aimed to deal with the comic arts in ancient Egypt through the artistic readings of the most important models representing it, in addition to the political and social conditions which contributed to its rising, as well as the defining of the virtual museums and adding designs to a virtual museum through which this kind of art could be displayed.

The study of the descriptive and analytical method has enabled the showing of the comic arts in ancient Egypt and its most important models through a proposed virtual museum designed for this purpose.

The study contributed to add the academic references, full details and the researches references on the presented pieces, and bypassing the obstacles of visiting traditional museums as well as finding solutions for problems like overstock of exhibits and preserving them.
