Abstract

Materials waste management is one of the important and integral part of construction project management. Such a huge investment requires considerable and much presided planning as well as control, so as to minimize construction wastage which certainly affects the internal performance of any organization. Around the globe construction materials generate million tons of waste yearly. Construction waste is certainly one of the very serious problems in all construction industry. Hence proper and efficient construction waste management of materials from actual construction sites has now become very crucial and mandatory. The paper particularly aims at to identify the currents practices adopted in the construction sector and key problem areas associated with it. A case study has been commissioned to study the real time project practices. In associated case study a proper streamlined and structured questionnaire survey method has been adopted for the problem area identification and to explore current practice. The result shows the various key problem area associated with the management of construction material and its waste along with its consequences.
