Research on Vocational Education Serving Rural Culture Revitalization Based on American Stc Vocational Education Concept

Abstract

With the gradual increase of youth unemployment rate, the change of labor market and the high requirements of enterprises for employees' quality, the American School-to-Job Opportunity Act was abolished, and the core concept of “School-to-Work” (STW) was inherited and enriched by “School-to-Career” (STC). Vocational education should support the mission of inheriting excellent culture of rural revitalization strategy, promote excellent rural culture, enhance villagers' legal awareness, promote local customs, stimulate new vitality, strengthen ecological charm and accelerate the construction of rural civilization. Combining rural cultural construction with vocational education is not only a measure to promote rural revitalization strategy, but also a new idea for the development of vocational education. Based on STC concept, this paper introduces the curriculum reform of American vocational education, analyzes the relationship between rural cultural construction and industry and vocational education, in order to seek the convergence among vocational education, rural culture and industrial development, and to provide guiding enlightenment for the curriculum reform of vocational education in China.
