Abstract

Ship collision is one of the important risks that affect the structural safety of offshore platforms. The dynamic response prediction and structural safety assessment after collision has become a hot issue in the design of offshore structures. In this paper, based on the engineering practice, the collision problems of three typical offshore platforms are studied. Based on nonlinear finite element numerical simulation technology, considering the influence of attached water mass and material strain rate sensitivity, taking a jack up platform as an example, a safety evaluation method considering the initial stress state of the platform before collision and the residual strength of the platform after collision is proposed. On this basis, the structural dynamic response and impact parameters of three typical offshore platforms, namely jack up platform, jacket platform and semi submersible platform, are studied. Based on the historical statistical data, this paper makes a qualitative assessment of the collision risk of the platform.
