Abstract

The article shows the results of a study of the properties of unboiled and boiled silk thread. It has been established that the presence of up to 30% sericin gives high rigidity to the threads and they have a positive role in weaving, and negatively affect the production of knitted fabric. It has been proven that decoction in a soap-soda solution to a residual sericin of 3-4% does not affect the physical and mechanical characteristics of silk fibre. A method has been developed for the processing of rejected cocoons by the uncontrolled unwinding of linear density and obtaining a silk mass, by decoction and chopping of the appropriate length for mixing with other fibres and producing multicomponent yarn. Thus, the preparation of raw materials from blended fibres will expand the range of new products with the effect of natural silk. Patents have been obtained for the novelty of the developed new methods, technology for the production of yarn from mixed raw materials.
