Abstract

Value Engineering (VE) is commonly used in building projects for increased awareness of the complexity of the project and for the reduction of excessive costs without compromising the practical specifications of specific components of the designed installations. Despite all the advantages of the application for value engineering, it is not applied to the building industry in many countries. Value Engineering (VE) is key aspect in enhancing the sustainability of the project and suggests an alternative approach to generate increased value for the project. Present economic and crisis situations also meant the use of rational approaches and procedures and the study and implementation of modern techniques with the use of technical advances in the area of development as well as in any field. Excess cost management must be managed over the life of the project from the outset of the design process. Building Knowledge Modeling (BIM) and Value Engineering (VE) are commonly used as a mechanism for creativity and competitiveness in the construction industry. It can promote a more prosperous development mechanism that, in turn, can lead to the eradication of poverty in developed countries. t is gradually being implemented in developed countries and its adoption in these countries is unusual.
