Development of College English Eco-Classroom under the Background of “Internet +”

Abstract

Under the rapid development of “Internet +” in the 20th century, educational researchers began to use the theories and principles of ecology to improve the educational system, which provided a new perspective for educational innovations. In the process of using ecological theory to improve teaching effect, researchers established the concept of Classroom Ecology (CE) and used it to guide the development of ecological classroom. CE advocates that education should examine teaching from the perspective of ecology, highlight students' learning subject value, reconstruct teacher-student relationship and classroom teaching mode to realize sustainable English teaching. In this context, this work discussed the strategies for developing college English ecological classroom under the background of “Internet +”. First, we discussed the necessity, urgency and ecological mode of college English teaching, and then analyzed the ecological imbalance in current English teaching. Finally, we constructed ecological classroom from three aspects (i.e., innovating teaching idea, creating harmonious ecological teaching environment and paying attention to teachers' professional growth), striving to better guide the construction of English ecological classroom and improve the effectiveness of English teaching.
