Study on Innovative Methods of College English Culture Teaching Based on New Media Technology

Abstract

The traditional English teaching mode has various disadvantages. The new media teaching method with multimedia technology and network technology as the core makes the disadvantages of traditional college English teaching improved. New media teaching methods provide students with more diverse information channels, more free learning time and space, richer learning content. But the new media teaching means also put forward higher requirements for teachers' quality. That is to say, teachers should have a wider knowledge structure and a higher level of teaching and research skills in order to improve the efficiency of English classroom teaching. Based on the current development situation, this paper expounds the importance of innovative development of College English education from the perspective of new media,  explores the relevant development path, and analyzes the culture teaching view based on Constructivism Theory in the network teaching mode. This paper uses Django framework based on MVC mode, mongodb with distributed storage and jQuery EasyUI as background management subsystem to develop a complete English online teaching system. This paper focuses on the ways and methods of strengthening cultural factors and improving learners' intercultural communicative competence in the new teaching mode. Experiments show that this method can improve the effectiveness of English classroom teaching.
