Abstract

In this paper, after constructing the evaluation index system and evaluation model for the development potential of mountain tourism, the A-Grade mountain tourism scenic spots in Guangxi are studied to analyze the development status of mountain tourism in the whole region and evaluate the development potential. The results show that 1. The scale of mountain tourism development decreases from Guilin to the southeast and southwest; 2. The overall development of mountain tourism is reasonable, and some mountain tourism is not fully developed; 3. Mountain tourism is rich in resources, outstanding in authenticity, stable in society and favorable in policies, with good development background and conditions but obvious homogenization; 4. The development of mountain tourism has prominent regional characteristics; 5. Mountain economic location directly affects the socio-economic potential of its tourism development; 6. The popularity and product composition of the scenic spots play a leading role in the market development. Finally, according to the development potential, some countermeasures are put forward, such as upgrading a group of mountainous scenic spots with large development space, avoiding developing mountainous scenic spots with relatively strong homogeneity in the near regions, continuously enriching and innovating product types, molding Guangxi characteristics, promoting social and economic development and its integration with mountainous tourism, etc.
