Abstract

In this article, the researcher presents the possibility of applying the earned value management system as an analytical tool in the construction industry to improve the objectives and results of the project, with the aim of explaining how the EVM has been used in previous projects and measuring the impact on construction projects in the current situation. We attempted to evaluate the project management method in this paper using one case study to illustrate how it was implemented. The researcher chooses the Dar Al-Nahrain project for printing, the timetable for the building was made using the MS project program, and all project activities were entered with the cost, then modeling the building by using the Revit program, which is one of the programs used by (BIM) technology, version 2020. BIM is a major innovation and process that directly affects changes in the design, analysis, building and management of the buildings. Usually, BIM offers a great deal of information, including where BIM might go, the broad range of tools and how BIM appears to be the answer to all the problems a construction manager is experiencing (CM). After which the project schedule was exported to Navisworks version 2020, which is a package program for reviewing 3D designs running in the Microsoft Windows environment. Navisworks is used primarily in the construction industries to complement 3D design packages and allows opening, combining and moving around 3D models in real-time and reviewing the model with a range of tools including comments, seeing the building from a specific perspective, as well as making measurements.  Reports, charts, analyzes, and comments are included in this case study by using Excel program. The paper summarizes how EVM helped the construction industry realize the value of this tool, to provide a clearer picture of project status in terms of cost and time, and deviation indicators for consideration and take into consideration in future projects.
