Abstract

In this paper, a modified form of the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller (PD interacted PI controller) is designed for Automatic Generation Control (AGC) of the two-area Interconnected thermal - thermal restructured power system. The research is then applied to two more practical power systems that are commonly used in the literature, and an attempt has been made to apply a powerful optimization technique, the JAYA algorithm, in which change in frequency with load is a major concern. In this paper a load frequency control problem is address by taking two area power systems with modified PID controller. The modified PID controller is used to get the desired response of such techniques. The parameters of modified PID controllers are tuned to the optimum value using various available optimization methods. The whole system is design in MATLAB / SIMULINK model different load pattern is applied in place of modified PID controller.
