Research on the Academic Performance of Chinese Junior High School Students from the Perspective of Lacan's "Family Environment Analysis"-- Multiple Linear Regression Model Based on CEPS Data
Abstract
Family education plays a very important role in the development of children's education. In addition to macro educational mechanisms and class divisions, micro mechanisms also play a role. This paper starts with the application of Lacan’s psychoanalysisand multiple linear regression model in education, and uses data from the China Education Panel Survey to conduct an empirical analysis. The age range of children is defined in the age range of junior high school students, and the achievement of junior high school students is specifically translated into mathematics, Chinese and English three subjects, to explore the relevance of family conditions and family relationships with children’s performance. The analysis shows that the family financial situation and the amount of extra-curricular education spending do not have a significant impact on academic performance. However, giving the child extra pocket money is significantly detrimental to the improvement of academic performance; closeness with mother, patience and democracy in family lives, good husband-and-wife relationship and family atmosphere all have a positive impact on their children’s academic performance. On the basis of summarizing the conclusions of relative research, some thoughts are put forward from the aspects of de-tagging and strengthening the role of mothers in education.
