Abstract

In order to better cope with the economic and health crisis, many countries have been dedicated to advance entrepreneurial education to promote innovative and entrepreneurial activities in recent years. Based on Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior (TPB), Shapero’s model of the entrepreneurial event (SEE) as well as the principle of trait activation, a three-way interaction model has been proposed to illustrate the generation of entrepreneurial intention. With cross-sectional survey data collected from 698 college students in China, we conducted hierarchical multiple regressions to test the theoretical model and found that entrepreneurship education is positively related to entrepreneurial intention, and that the relationship is moderated by entrepreneurial resilience. The moderating effect is further affected by entrepreneurial culture. Therefore, it is suggested that both the improvement of participants’ entrepreneurial resilience and the construction of entrepreneurial culture should receive enough attention when new educational initiatives are devised to promote entrepreneurial intention.
