Study on the Measurement of Green Total Factor Productivity in Cities
Abstract
This paper usesMalmquist index in data envelopment analysis to measure green total factor productivity (TFP) of Chinese cities by constructing input and output indexes and taking 281 Chinesecities as research samples. The study found that the green total factor productivity of Chinese cities increased by 2.4% on average, but the growth rate showed a slowing trend.A total of 194 cities achieved green total factor productivity improvement, accounting for 69.9% of the sample cities.Among them, technological change is the main driving force for the growth of green total factor productivity. The improvement of technological efficiency has no obvious effect on the improvement of green total factor productivity, which restricts the further improvement of green total factor productivity.
