COVID-19 Anxiety and Mental Health: The Moderating Effect of Family Physical Exercise

Abstract

During the COVID-19 blockade, it became the source of affecting the normal and healthy lives of residents, causing various psychological burdens.Therefore, it is important to evaluate the regulating effect of family physical exercise(FPE) on public physical and mental health(PMH) during COVID-19.An online survey (N =680; age 18-60 years) conducted through demographic indicators evaluated the regulatory effect of physical exercise on residents' mind and body during the lock-in period. The study mainly used the family COVID-19 anxiety scale and Likert five-level scale. The degree of reaction before and after physical exercise was statistically analyzed.During the COVID-19 lockdown period, the negative impact on people's physical and mental health is greater. It is learned through investigation that family physical exercise can effectively alleviate citizens’ anxiety and worries. (That is, the degree of anxiety is significantly reduced).Family physical exercise during the COVID-19 pandemic can reduce the negative impact of the epidemic. Therefore, citizens’ mental health, anxiety and worries should be concerned, and more people should be called on to participate in physical exercise. Whether during the epidemic or in the post-epidemic era, physical exercise plays an important role in the physical and mental adjustment of people.
