Abstract

With the typical saturated sand pebble stratum in Beijing as the research object, the frost heave and thaw settlement characteristics of saturated sand pebble under different dry density and load conditions are studied were studied by using the multifunctional frost heave and thaw settlement instrument independently developed by the team. The results show that The test results show that the frost heave ratio of saturated sand pebble is less than 1%, and it is weak frost heaving material. Both the frost heave and the thaw settlement have obvious exponential correlation with time. At the same initial water content and temperature, the frost heave ratio and thaw settlement coefficient of saturated sand pebble have a good linear correlation with dry density, and a good exponential correlation with load, and are greatly affected by load, followed by dry density. With the increase of load, the influence of dry density on frost heave ratio and thaw settlement coefficient becomes less and less. A prediction model for the frost heave ratio and thaw settlement coefficient of saturated sand pebble was established to provide parameters for the freezing construction design of subway stations at different depths.
