Processing Method of Logging-While-Drilling Azimuthal Gamma Data Based on Cubic Spline Interpolation

Abstract

Image processing method of Logging-while-drilling azimuthal gamma data has played an extremely important role in explorating and developing highly deviated and horizontal wells, which can control the bit trajectory effectively and improve the bit penetration rate. This paper uses cubic spline interpolation to interpolate and integrate the obtained gamma data of different azimuth angle sectors firstly, and then obtain continuous depth data through longitudinal interpolation. Using azimuth gamma imaging logging, the final image can be clear reflect the stratum characteristics and meet the needs of exploration and development.
